The goals of this session are twofold:

A) to present the group research carried out by Americanists in Spain (2004-09) to SAAS members

B) to stimulate possibilities and contacts for networking among SAAS researchers on American literature, American history and American studies

The contributors to this session must be members of research groups who have received funding from public institutions (Grupos de Investigación), or members of groups (minimum four people) who have been working together for more than two years and have published collective material.

The presentation should contain: the reference (title and code number) or central line of research of the project, the reasons why the research is seen as innovative in the field of American Studies, and the results of the research in the form of publications or collective activities. The time limit for each presentation will be 10 minutes.

The groups taking part in the workshop, either by contributing to it with a presentation or by attending it, are also invited to present their work in a poster format. Posters on the work developed by each group will be exhibited and a representative from each group should be available to provide information at an established timetable (yet to be decided) on Thursday, before the workshop.

The poster presentation will allow SAAS members to have access to more information about the research presented by the groups and will stimulate person to person contacts for future networking possibilities.
