The Spanish Association for American Studies (SAAS), in conjunction with the Fulbright Commission in Madrid, awards an annual grant open to young scholars and researchers in the field of American Studies. The objective is to promote American Studies in Spain, to provide young scholars with the possibility of researching in prestigious universities in the United States, and to facilitate mutual knowledge and understanding between Spanish and American institutions.

Only Spanish nationals or citizens of the EU can apply for the grant. US citizens or residents are excluded.

The grant is open to Ph.D. holders who have received their Ph.D. after December 31st, 1999. Doctorates issued from private universities or institutions will have to be validated by the Spanish Ministry of Education before the application deadline.
