VOLUME 14: SPECIAL NUMBER

For the first time, and as was agreed at the SAAS Assembly held at Barcelona during the 9th International SAAS Conference, Revista de Estudios Norteamericanos will publish a special number for its 14th volume (2010). The theme proposed, in view of the recent occurences in the US and their global repercussion, was “Crisis and Catharsis in US Culture: From 1929 to 2009,” hoping to open up a space for the exchange of ideas on the concept of crisis and the transformations brought on by it through a crucial century in American history. We welcome contributions that deal with this subject from any of the various perspectives that have been represented in this journal: literary criticism, cultural studies, gender studies, history, film studies, politics, sociology, anthropology and philosophy. We hope to include specially commissioned papers by reputed scholars as well as contributions from Americanists world-wide who may be interested in the subject.
